If you’ve struggled with periodontal disease and tooth decay problems, then chances are you have been living with significantly reduced oral function. Issues with pain, infection and the inefficient ability to chew food can have a serious negative impact on your overall quality of life.

In a case like this, our dentists, Drs. Azmoodeh, Ky, and Crespo, might recommend fitting you for dentures to help restore the full function and appearance of your teeth. Dentures are basically false teeth set into a material that closely matches the appearance of gum tissues. Of course, any remaining teeth will likely need to be extracted first to make adequate space. Once your gums have healed, our dentist will take a detailed impression of your gums to serve as a guide for your custom set of dentures.

Our dentist may suggest a complete denture to replace all of the teeth in both arches or just one, depending on your individual needs. A complete denture replaces all of the teeth in a full dental arch. To improve stability, we may suggest using a denture adhesive. A partial denture is used if you are missing multiple teeth but have remaining natural teeth. A partial denture often includes a thin framework or clasps that attach to the natural teeth for a secure fit.

If you have lost multiple missing or compromised teeth, please call Legacy Trails Dental in Plano, Texas at 214-227-1000 to see if you’re a good candidate for a custom set of dentures. We are happy to restore your confident smile!
