If you are considering a dental crown for one or more of your teeth, Legacy Trails Dental is here to answer any questions you may have. In fact, we’ve already anticipated one of your possible questions – the process of getting one.

We can most often finish the dental crown procedure in only two visits. The first visit is all about preparing your tooth for the crown. To make certain that the tooth has no lingering decay, we will perform an oral exam. If all is well, Dr. Afshin Azmoodeh will gently shave off a portion of your tooth’s outer enamel. This will make space for the crown. Dr. Afshin Azmoodeh will produce a copy of the tooth and surrounding areas called an impression. We’ll fit you with a temporary crown to protect your tooth and to make sure your smile stays lovely while we create your custom-made permanent crown.

The impression will be sent to a local dental laboratory where your crown will be formed to fit the exact qualifications of your mouth.

For the duration of your second appointment, we will take out the temporary crown and exchange it for the permanent crown. Dr. Afshin Azmoodeh will verify that it fits well with the rest of your smile and that the color corresponds with your other teeth accurately. If so, we will cement the crown to your tooth for a durable fit. The only thing that remains for you then is to enjoy your smile.

If you would like a dental crown, your part in the process is easy. All you have to do is call Legacy Trails Dental in Plano, Texas at 214-227-1000 and show up on the days that are set up. We’ll take care of the rest.
